Thailand: Part 1

We are back from the magical land of Thailand!  Where do I begin to describe how amazing it is there?  The people were so friendly, the colors so vivid, the food SO good. 

On our first day there, before the heat of Bangkok's winter (which got up to the 90s) set in, we took a boat ride to see the floating market.  Unfortunately, the market wasn't open yet, but on the way we witnessed a monk quietly reading on a riverside bench, giant water lizards laying out on the cement or swimming by us, and dilapidated homes sitting right up against gorgeous, ornate temples.
